SNMP Managers Revision 3
NetVue User Guide MN-NETVUE
A–2
SNMP Traps are unsolicited UDP messages. They are forwarded by an SNMP
Agent to an SNMP Manager without establishing any connection with that
SNMP Manager.
No verification occurs. Neither the SNMP Manager nor the SNMP Agent knows
if an SNMP Trap is lost,.
A.2 Interaction between SNMP manager and SNMP agent
The SLSNMPManager and SLSNMPAgent processes allow a NetVue Agent to exchange SNMP
messages with devices and third-party SNMP managers.
